All indications are that this season will be an even better year for Kappa Phi’s teams. One organization has dropped out of intramurals and another has entered for the first time. So the competition should be easier. Also, handball, in which Kappa phi has shown no great promise, has been dropped form the program.
This year’s football team shows substantial promise of improvement. The offense is being coached by Jim Cowles and the defense is under the management of Gerald Miller. Regular weekend practices have been held and the team is looking better than last year’s. In the opener against Theta Xi (number 2 in our league), the game was anybody’s until the last few minutes when some mistakes gave Theta Xi three quick touchdowns. The final score was 46-13. The team hopes to make up for this loss it’s next game against Pi Kappa Alpha.
