The Mission and Values of the Fraternity are a public representation of the core values contained within our Ritual. Our mission is simple but straightforward: “Committed to Lives of Excellence.” Our members should strive to live in a way that reflects excellence in themselves, the Fraternity, and every part of their being. As a Fraternity, we are dedicated to helping men achieve this level of excellence in their own lives.
The four fundamental principles of Delta Tau Delta are Truth, Courage, Faith, and Power.
Truth is vital in the relationship between an organization and the outside world. An organization not rooted in truth will perish. Truth begins within the organization itself. To truly become brothers, men must be truthful with themselves and with one another. They must hold each other accountable.
Courage takes heart. Those who are courageous thrive in nearly all aspects of life. As you navigate through life, you will confront many difficult decisions. Courage helps a leader understand the best option and take it, regardless of the popularity of that choice. Courage has a distinct relationship with truth: one must know the truth in order to stand for it.
Faith is belief. Faith grows, develops, and changes. This can be belief in a higher power, in fellow men, or even in oneself. It means trusting your foundation and believing your actions are appropriate and right. Faith helps you trust decisions made and believe that information given to you is correct. A lack of faith drives a wedge through an organization and through friendships.
Power begins as inner strength. Power is a combination of talents, inherent abilities, and wisdom. It increases when the power of many individuals is united through brotherhood. The power of an organization, when combined with courage, faith, and truth, leads into the future and ensures success.
As a chapter, Epsilon Nu is founded upon the values described above, which were established at our fraternity’s founding. These beliefs are best summarized by our commitment to excellence, to which we aspire every day.
Honesty and integrity are the glue that holds our fraternity together. We strive to maintain accountability in our daily interactions with each other and with the community. Our pursuit of excellence in honesty and integrity has resulted in outstanding relationships with fellow Delts and the broader community.
We are a vital organization, full of energy, and our members are committed to supporting the fraternity and its values through their service and dedication. This commitment remains even after graduation. You aren’t a Delt for four years—you’re a Delt for life.
