New Member Development

This committee within the Epsilon Nu chapter of Delta Tau Delta is fundamental to its well-being as both a chapter and as a community. Those in this committee help their fellow brothers with mental health, academic, financial, physical, emotional, and social concerns by doing the following:

  • Promoting and hosting seminars from the on campus Health and Wellness
  • Talking directly with members about their issues
  • Promoting and hosting seminars from the on campus Student Success Center
  • Hosting ritual practices to make sure things go seamlessly for both new and existing members
  • Regularly interacting with both new and existing members in an attempt to gauge their cohesion and health

The current New Member Development chair, Aiden Dougherty, was responsible for several seminars this semester and is always trying his best to make sure nobody in the Shelter feels excluded from his regularly hosted movie nights.

New member Education is also responsible for initiating new members in which, after accepting a bid to become a member of Delta Tau Delta, they will go through the formal pledging ceremony. This solidifies them as a probationary member, and they will start the 6-week new member process. Throughout this process they will be expected to attend weekly new member meetings to learn about our brotherhood and history. There are multiple ceremonies along the way that teach the way of Delts and how to live as a Delt.
